Once again, we made our way through the wide range of Mac apps and, as in the previous months, put together five app recommendations for you. In September it is again a colorful mix, but with a small focus. Because the coming week will take place September Keynote 2021 as Apple Special Event instead of. The first app recommendation should therefore help you to keep track of the many Apple devices released to date. If you are looking for even more useful software after the following paragraphs, please take a look at the articles June, July and August.
Chapter in this post:
1. Mactracker
Mactracker is not mentioned for the first time by Sir Apfelot at this point. The first time we introduced you to the free Apple Lexicon four years ago: Mactracker for macOS and iOS: Apple device encyclopedia and individual device overview. Both on the Mac and mobile you can immerse yourself in the product history of the apple company, search for certain technical data of individual models, keep an eye on OS versions and sort your own devices in the "My Models" tab. Mactracker even shows you how the warranty is doing. I think it's super practical, also and especially for the work at Sir Apfelot.
Hidden (Bar) is comparable to the "Bartender" and "Dozer" apps. The Hidden Bar app for macOS helps to tidy up the menu bar of the operating system and to keep it clear. This makes it a good alternative to Dozers, especially on M1 models of the Apple Mac, which has not been updated for a long time. But you can also use the free organization help for the menu bar on Intel Macs. From macOS 10.12 onwards, it can be installed from the App Store and then used with various functions to bring order to the screen - even using keyboard shortcuts.

Only some formatting can be called up with inconspicuous buttons on the side so that you can make adjustments to the text and background. And best of all: Focused is included in the Setapp subscription. You get the full version along with over 220 other apps at a low subscription price.
