There are countless apps from various categories that you can install and use on the Apple Mac. With our app recommendations, we are now picking out a few highlights for you for the third month in a row. As in the June as well as in the July Mac software from a wide variety of areas is included. Do you have any additions to this, do you want to share your experiences with the macOS programs shown or perhaps point out a useful alternative? Then just leave a comment under this post!
In times of social media, news apps and other ubiquitous media, feed readers have fallen a bit behind. The programs for receiving RSS and Atom feeds are very useful. If you're using blogs, forums, news sites, corporate news rooms, or other web offerings RSS offer want to follow, then you can use the simple but practical Vienna app. The open source program is free and can be downloaded from GitHub. Vienna was specially programmed for macOS, which is why the app runs stable on the Apple Mac. You can find the Sir Apfelot Feed at the bottom of this website using the RSS symbol;)
The app name "Sketch" is pretty deep for the scope of this app. Because the program is not about sketches, but about the creation of user interfaces and complex graphics. You can find tutorials on YouTube that show how to use Sketch to design impressive iPhone apps or modern landings Pages plans for websites. The software can also be used to design infographics, visualize marketing ideas or create images for professional social media posts. For $9 a month or $99 a year, you can use the Mac app, which can be expanded with numerous plugins.
At some point Apple will implement the option in macOS to view the battery status of all devices registered in the same iCloud via the menu bar. Until then, you have to rely on Cloud Battery to use this feature. Because the Cloud Battery App does exactly that: Show the charging status of MacBook, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Apple Pencil and Co. via an icon in the menu bar and in a window that can be called up above. To do this, the app must be installed on the respective devices (iPhone, iPad, watch) in addition to the target Mac. Only then can the charge status of the respective battery and the accessory batteries from Pencil, AirPods and Co. be called up.
AppCleaner is not an app that you need every day or that you should definitely include in the workflow at work. Unless you're testing apps and therefore have to keep installing and uninstalling software. Because the latter is the core task of the AppCleaner app. It uninstalls apps and not only takes the package from the Applications folder with it, but also looks into other folders in which the directories, memories and files of the program to be deleted can be found. There, the garbage is tracked down and listed. Then you can choose what should be deleted - and with one click everything is gone. Tip: AppCleaner post here on the blog.
Converting videos and compressing videos is such a topic in itself. Because for certain devices, for integration on a website or other possible uses, video files sometimes have to be adapted. A free tip would be the HandBrake app, which is in the HandBrake 1.4.0 also for M1 Macs is made. But if you are interested in the Setapp subscription or are already using it, you can also select, install and use Permute from the more than 220 full app versions. Pretty much all video formats can be converted to one another with Permute. In addition to video formats, the image and audio formats of corresponding files can also be changed in order to adapt and compress them.
Category: Multimedia Tool / Converter
Price: Included in the Setapp subscription from $ 8,99 per month
Setapp offers over 220 full versions of the app at a low subscription price
SetApp from MacPaw offers more than our previous app recommendations put together. Because the software subscription brings you from $ 8,99 a month over 220 apps as a full version with all updates and without advertising on the Mac. For the time being, you only install Setapp and then look for exactly the apps from the overview that suit you. CleanMyMac X is there as well as VPN, news, graphics, video, text, multimedia and other solutions. Check it out ;)
After graduating from high school, Johannes completed an apprenticeship as a business assistant specializing in foreign languages. But then he decided to research and write, which resulted in his independence. For several years he has been working for Sir Apfelot, among others. His articles include product introductions, news, manuals, video games, consoles, and more. He follows Apple keynotes live via stream.
Did you like the article and did the instructions on the blog help you? Then I would be happy if you the blog via a Steady Membership would support.

Great, the "app recommendations" are a valuable addition to your great site for inspiration and discovery, thank you very much - please do more of this!
Thanks for the feedback. It's nice that it goes down well! There is certainly not always something for everyone, but this is how you get to know a few new apps. : D
Permute great app :-). To check the charge level of iPhone and iPad, I use iBetterCharge from Softorino. This means that I can see how the charge status is on the devices without a separate app. Here is the link -> https://softorino.com/ibettercharge/
Thanks for the tip!
