Velcro cable ties with eyelets in a set with different lengths - my pick (KW32)

Velcro cable ties with eyelets

This week I have a very practical tip for you. In principle, I wanted to introduce Velcro cable ties in general as a recommendation, but a few days ago I had to reorder some and so I chose a set that includes different lengths and even contains 60 cm long cable ties. If you want to take a look at it, please Right this way.

Where I got to know the cable ties with Velcro

I got to know these things years ago when I bought a used model building drone. The rather heavy batteries were fastened there with such cable ties and, to be honest, I was amazed that the model builders put so much trust in this type of fastening.

However, after I checked for myself how firmly the batteries hold with these Velcro straps, I was pretty enthusiastic about the parts.

Why the Velcro cable ties are so practical ...

There are a couple of positives to these things that I really like:

  • They hold extremely tight.
  • If you use Velcro cable ties with eyelets, you can even tighten them properly.
  • They hold up better than disposable zip ties.
  • You can use it multiple times and redo it.
  • They have a wide charging surface and thus hold power supplies and the like better in place.

Where do I use the cable ties? All over!

If you first think about where you can use the Velcro straps, you will find a lot of applications. I personally use it for the following things:

  • I attach power supplies for computer peripherals to a cross brace of my desk so that they don't unnecessarily take up space on the table.
  • You can roll up long cables and tie them together with a Velcro cable tie - this works just as well with iPhone charging cables as with thick power cables.
  • USB cables, which otherwise dangle around the desk, can be guided nicely along the table legs or other struts with the cable ties.
  • Even PVC tarpaulins can be folded up and then held together with one of the 60cm cable ties.
  • With tents, there is always only bad material to pack the poles together. It's great with the Velcro straps.
  • Lately I even had to connect two long bamboo poles to have a 6 yard stick so I could fish a shuttlecock from the branches of a tree. This was also possible with two short Velcro cable ties.
The cable ties can also be used to attach power supplies to the desk.

My conclusion: a set of Velcro cable ties belongs in every household

No question about it: these things are so practical that you just have to have them to hand. There is always a use case that you haven't thought of yet. And now that I have a bundle of different sizes at home, there is always an opportunity to attach the pieces.

I mainly use them to hold cables together or to attach something to something else. I'm sure you can think of more practical things. I appreciate your ideas for further uses in the comments.

Supplement 1: Velcro cable ties without eyelet

You can also see red Velcro cable ties in my photos. I bought these earlier and they have no eyelet. They are very practical for cable management, as they hold very well even without an eyelet and they are also available in large quantities for little money. Anyone who only wants to hold thin cables together is with these here well served.

Supplement 2: endless Velcro

What I also got myself once was a roll with 10 meters of Velcro in one piece. One side of the ribbon is fluffy and the other has the little check marks. This means that you can always cut off as much as you need. However, I found handling the pre-assembled cable ties with eyelets much more practical. But I wanted you to have the opportunity the big Velcro roll not withheld.

    1. That's right, they look very practical too! But slowly my supply of Velcro cable ties is so large that it could be described as pathological. 😂
