Snapchat is an app for iOS and Android made for sending photos temporarily. In the meantime, however, Snapchat has become a jack of all trades for iPhone and Android smartphones, including group chat, video calls, etc. If you - like me - are not friends of this kind of waste of time, but still want to have a say, then here is your Snapchat Masterpost with everything you need to know about the Snapchat app. A nice contrast to the previous article, which was about the Deactivating the camera went;)
Chapter in this post:
Everything on Snapchat
If you're wondering where the pictures of the girls with dog ears, dog nose and dog tongue come from, what the little white ghost on the yellow background means or why there are maximum 10-second recordings of people who automatically disappear - yes, then this article is for you. Here's everything you never wanted to know about Snapchat. after the App for iOS and Android saw the light of day in the digital world in 2011, an unparalleled triumph began; In 2013, Mark Zuckerberg (yes, Facebook's) bid $3 billion for Snapchat; In early 2017, the app and everything behind it was valued at around $25 billion.
Who are Evan Spiegel and Reggie Brown?
Good question, because they are the founders of Snapchat and they were both at Stanford University in California, USA. Reggie Brown is said to be responsible, among other things, for the original concept of the app, for the logo and some other merits. However, he was "adopted" with a replacement of a total of 158 million US dollars from the company Snapchat Inc. The whole story behind a dispute about who invented what, everything in the league (Bobby Murphy) and so on Business Insider for you. If that's not enough for you, then take another look The Social Network for more unresolved inventor questions;)
From disappearing photos to the social network
The development of the app also shows the development of the usage behavior of smartphone owners. In 2011, it was enough to be able to send funny, disreputable or just stupid photos for a short time (possibly with one or the other filter), today a whole battery of functions is required. A riddle that was mainly faced by those who received lustful photos via Snapchat: How do I take a screenshot without the sender noticing? Because if a screenshot of the temporary graphic was taken, that person got (or gets) a notification.
Solutions were quickly found: from photographing the display with another device to using QuickTime Screen capture for a high resolution screenshot. By the way, it has everything you never wanted to know about it iMore summarized for you. Now there are even more functions that you can ponder, but which are available for longer: text messages, calls, video messages, group chats, so-called "stories" that disappear after 24 hours, and so on. You can even read and embed news from CNN, The New York Times, National Geographic, VICE and other sources.
Quote from the iTunes App Store (see below): "Warning: Snapchatters can always capture and save your messages, for example using screenshots or a camera. So watch what you snap!"

Filters that are now free
The most famous Snapchat filter is probably the dog filter. Dog ears, a dog's muzzle and a sticking out tongue ... if you haven't had to see it, consider yourself lucky. For some time, Snapchat even offered filters for a fee, but withdrew this business model. Now companies are supposed to sponsor the filters. However, there is more Snapchat filter info: some work with artists and designers. Sometimes, it seems so, but designs are also simply adopted without the original artist noticing or even being rewarded ...
What is Discover and Memories all about?
Under the Discover section, Snapchat users can "exclusive stories from world-famous media houses and events“Discover, it says in the App Store. News and gossip in small bites for the short attention span. There is also the Memorys section, which "a personal collection of your most beautiful snaps and stories" should be. Incidentally, with every update there are always new functions. So it currently says about version 10.8.0.0:
- You can now draw with emojis! Simply tap on the doodle tool and you're good to go. :)
- Snaps without end! Show your friends your snaps for as long as they want.
- Tap the Scissors Tool, then tap the star icon to try out the new magic eraser!
Ui, that sounds exciting ... What is your opinion on that? Feel free to leave a comment!
