Anker Nano II Series - mini chargers with USB-C and up to 65 watts

Today, Anker presented a new range of light and handy chargers based on GaN technology. The Anker Nano II Series is called "Powered by GaN II" and USB-C chargers with 30W, 45W and 65W are available. Incidentally, GaN II describes the further development of the one introduced at Anker in 2018 instead of silicon chips Gallium Nitride Technology. Their operating frequency could be increased by more than 20%. When converting alternating current into direct current, less heat is generated, which increases efficiency. In Germany, the three new chargers should be available from the end of June 2021.

New technology compared to older models

The new Anker Nano II chargers have PowerIQ 3.0 technology, which also includes Power Delivery. The quick charge function of the iPhone should z. B. can be used with it, but also Super Fast Charge from Samsung. The 65-watt model is the same size as the Anker Atom PD 1 from 2018, which only had 30 watts of power. The current 30-watt model, on the other hand, is as small as conventional 5-watt chargers from cheap manufacturers, but can charge the Nintendo Switch or the MacBook Air 2020, for example. In summary, one can say that the improved GaN II technology results in smaller, lighter and more efficient chargers for a wide variety of technologies.

"GaN II is the next big step towards an effortless, lightning-fast charging experience“Says Steven Yang, CEO of Anker. "With the new generation of GaN II technology, the Anker Nano II charging series is not only smaller and more portable, but also makes a leap forward in terms of compatibility and charging security."

The charging security of the new chargers is due, among other things, to the new InnoSwitch 4 from Power Integrations. "The InnoSwitch 4 is a high-frequency, voltage-free flyback switch, which contains a robust 750 V primary switch with PowiGaN technology from Power Integrations and a new high-frequency active clamp flyback controller to ensure optimum charging performance and at the same time to achieve the smallest possible form factor“, It says in the official press release.
