Chapter in this post:
The new iMac was presented at yesterday's Apple event. The rumors about its colorful design were confirmed. However, the design is completely new. One of the reasons for this is that the new Apple iMac has the M1 chip. This takes up less space and less cooling than the previous hardware. In this article you can read what the new desktop computer from Cupertino looks like, in which versions it is sold and what it costs.
Here you will find the most important technical details from the iMac data sheet. This is offered in different versions, which differ mainly in the M1 chip version and the size of the SSD memory. Therefore, some of the following points are formulated a little more comprehensively. Because depending on the GPU cores (7 or 8 pieces), the equipment and even the scope of delivery looks a little different.
The new iMac won't be available for pre-order until April 30th. It will only be available in the Apple Store and delivered in the second half of May. That's why I can't see any differentiated prices today (as of April 21, 2021). So how more memory, more RAM, etc. affect the price, I can not yet show you. However, there is already this breakdown:
Following yesterday's keynote, Apple which you can follow with this link, published several videos about the new products. In the following I have embedded you “Introducing the new iMac” and “Say hello to the new iMac”. These two short videos give an impression of the new Apple desktop computer in moving images:
You can find even more information, numerous photos of the use of the new iMac, technical information and some application examples in the Official press release from Apple's newsroom. There you can find out, for example, that the power of the new iMac is sufficient to edit up to five 4K videos at the same time and to watch the corresponding project smoothly. What do you think about it? Do you like the new computer from Cupertino? And do you think it is good value for money? Feel free to leave a comment :)
