Entire Mac portfolio equipped with Apple silicon

When Apple started upgrading Mac computers from Intel processors to the 2020 Apple silicon (M-Chips), a time frame of two years was set for the entire range. This schedule may have been exceeded, but now the entire lineup of the Mac family is finally equipped with M chips. The M2 Ultra is also the last SoC of the M2 family, so even more performance can only be expected with the M3 Ultra in 2024 or 2025. For now, the new Mac Studio and the new Mac Pro are Apple's most powerful professional computers. The M2 Ultra is made up of 134 billion transistors, which is 20 billion more than the M1 Ultra.

"The M2 Ultra delivers amazing performance and capabilities that satisfy even the most demanding workflows of our pro users, without sacrificing the industry-leading energy efficiency of Apple chips' said Johny Srouji, Apple's senior vice president of hardware technologies. "The huge jumps in performance of the CPU, GPU and Neural Engine combined with the enormous memory bandwidth in each individual SoC make the M2 Ultra the most powerful chip ever developed for a desktop computer. If you want to see for yourself, you can pre-order both the Mac Studio 2023 and the Mac Pro 2023. From next week (week 24 2023) both will be available and will be delivered.
