Apple with all-day special at Apple Park to celebrate WWDC

"To kick off WWDC22, we're hosting a very special all-day experience on June 6th at Apple Park. Meet with other developers to work with Apple engineers and experts to explore the Keynote as well as watch the State of the Union videos, explore the new Developer Center, and more. We can't wait to meet in person. This celebration marks the start of an inspiring week of sessions, labs and lounges - all online and with more activities than ever before", it says freely translated on the new page for developers linked above as well as in the Developer app.

The application phase starts on May 9th and ends on May 11th, 2022.

What is the Developer Center all about?

Apple will present the new "Developer Center" in Apple Park as part of WWDC 2022, perhaps even in the opening keynote. It is not yet clear what exactly this is all about, how developers can use it and what purpose it is intended to serve. In a Entry 9to5Mac is rumored to be the successor to "Compatibility Labs," a program that started in 2010. The labs could be used for a fee to test apps on specific hardware and get professional help from Apple employees. It remains to be seen whether the Developer Center will be a pure successor or will have new features ready.
