I also look after some of my SEO clients in the area of Google Ads (formerly Google Adwords). In order to access any of these customer accounts, customers need to add me as a co-user with my Gmail. In this way, when I log in, I see all the customer accounts and can decide with a click which one I want to call up.
The small problem with this is that some clients have not named their accounts and they only show up as "Google Ads Account" in my list. This isn't very helpful and if you have multiple such Google Ads accounts in the list, you have to click back and forth several times until you find the right account.
So it's a good idea to give these accounts a new name. And I want to show you how that works.
Chapter in this post:
Instructions for renaming the Google Ads account
It is important here that you actually have access to the corresponding customer account and that the customer has given you enough rights to edit the name of the account. But this is how it works in practice:
- In Google Ads log in
- Go to unnamed account
- Tools and Settings (top menu bar)
- Go to "Settings" under "Setup".
- Here, use the down arrow to open the "Account name" area
- enter the new name in the text field and save
Please don't be surprised if you go back to the management account and it still says "Google Ads Account". This happened to me too and it took a few minutes (less than 5) for Google Ads to list the new account name.
Looking for Google Ads support?
If you run Google Ads yourself and are looking for support in maintaining the campaign or setting up a new campaign, then feel free to contact me. I do not charge a monthly flat rate, as some Google Ads agencies like to do, but only write an invoice for the hours I actually worked.
And if the topic of search engine optimization is also on your to-do list in order to reduce the high costs for Google Ads with good rankings, then I am also happy to be there for you. I have been working for small to medium-sized companies for many years and I help the Airbus supplier as well as the naturopath in Unterputzemückel (if there is one).
