CleanMyMac X: 500 MB limit lifted during trial period

CleanMyMac and the like. You can test the safe and tested CleanMyMac X app from MacPaw free of charge for 7 days. For this test period, the limit of 500 MB memory collection and other restrictions are no longer applicable.

Our tip: book or test directly Setapp, the app package with over 240 full Mac versions (including CleanMyMac X) from a wide variety of areas.

CleanMyMac X: download, installation, trial period

If you have downloaded the CleanMyMac X app from the linked MacPaw website, you need to run the .dmg file from the Downloads folder. You then drag the app icon into the Applications folder and can remove the CleanMyMac drive from the desktop (right click -> Eject). So it's a completely normal procedure, like with other apps downloaded from the web.

After opening the app, you grant a few permissions via the system settings (so that you can scan the hard drive and detect junk data and malware) and start using it. If you want to start cleaning the hard drive after the scans, you have to start the 7-day test period. You will be redirected to the website again. The good thing: from now on the cleanup is no longer limited to 500 MB. So you can get rid of gigabytes of data waste in a free period.

Setapp: Package with 240+ full app versions at a low price

In addition to some practical individual apps, MacPaw also offers an app subscription. Of course, this not only contains the programs developed by the Ukrainian studio itself, but also numerous tested offers from other providers. These include apps from the areas of productivity, Mac tools, lifestyle, hobby, image editing, video editing, audio editing, and much more. VPN applications and other useful tools for private web use are also included. Do you want to be able to download videos from over 1.000 websites? There is something for that too!

In addition to the numerous useful offers from third-party providers, MacPaw has packed its own offers into the Setapp package. Among them is CleanMyMac Price significantly more. The individual subscription only costs $34,95 per month (or $54,95/month if paid annually). Setapp for the family and thus for up to four accounts with two devices each costs $79,95 per month or $9,99 per year. All details here.
