Instructions: Uninstall the Apple Watch app

You can delete an Apple Watch app directly on the watch by making a few entries. Here is the step-by-step guide to quickly removing programs from Apple's smartwatch:

  1. Press the digital Crownto see the list of installed apps
  2. Hold your finger on the display so that the display options are displayed
  3. Now select the point here edit apps from
  4. The app to be deleted now has the Delete button (circle with X) and the process with Delete the app to confirm
  5. To end the process, press again digital Crown

Don't see the Remove X?

The delete button described in point 4 is not displayed for every pre-installed app (see image above). Currently, not every software selected by Apple for the Watch has an option to uninstall it. From watchOS 9.4, however, at least these nine pre-installed programs can be deleted from the watch: fitness, depth, (emergency) siren, Where is?, heart rate, maps, wallet, workouts and world clock. If one of these apps is deleted, then of course the associated function can no longer be used (find devices with "Where is?", pay with Apple Pay thanks to the "Wallet", navigation via "Maps", etc.)  More information is available in the Apple support document HT211833.

  2. Choose the tab my watch from
  3. Scroll to the area Installed on Apple Watch

If you uninstalled an app on the iPhone, then its watchOS counterpart on the paired Apple Watch will also be removed. So if you don't just want to get rid of the software for the watch, but one that runs on both devices, then removing it from the iPhone is sufficient. You can find out how this works in detail in the linked article. You can also read the Apple support document for more information on removing watch apps HT212064.
