Chapter in this post:
DesignEvo is an online service with which you can create a logo with lettering, graphics, color gradients and the like directly in the browser via HTML5 on any platform free of charge. The more than 5.000 preset templates, symbols, fonts and other elements ensure that you can create a logo for your blog, online shop, YouTube channel or motto in just 30 seconds (or if you get lost in the software, in three hours) -Abi can create. I looked at DesignEvo for a test and wrote a little experience report about it.
DesignEvo will be at homonymous website advertised as a “Free Logo Maker” - behind it is PearlMountain, the software company that has been bringing out image processing programs since 2006 and has already been able to address several million users with FotoJet, for example. That doesn't sound bad - so quickly click on “Create a free logo” and scroll through the individual settings. You don't even have to register for this. There is still a possibility to register; in the event that you want to save logos or use certain services for a fee.
First of all, you have to choose from numerous prefabricated logos with matching lettering and, in addition to the search field, you can also choose from several categories. You can choose from Abstract, Animals, Art, Automobiles, Finance, Children, Fashion, Food, Industry, Law, Letters, Lifestyle, Sports, Travel, Hotel and much more.
If you have then chosen a style and would like to adapt it to your own taste, you can enter a company name and a slogan right at the beginning so that this data is taken over directly. But that is optional. So if you just want to create a graphic, you can do that too.
Then it's time to adjust. The good thing about it: everything is organized in a pretty self-explanatory and very user-friendly manner. Simply add symbols and texts, define colors or color gradients and align everything nicely. The symbols in the bar above the graphic preview help. Simply mark one or more elements and then move them horizontally, vertically and so on so that everything is centered with pixel accuracy.
If you are satisfied with your creation, you should first click on "Preview" in the menu bar at the top. This shows how the logo would look with lettering on a business card, letterhead, notebook, website, T-shirt, etc. Unsatisfied? Then better adjust again! You can also save your interim results in the cloud.
In addition to the options mentioned, there is also a download. If you have set the page to German, the corresponding button is called "Download". If you click on it, you will get a price overview - more on that below. If you use the free version, you can download a 500 pixel x 500 pixel logo - however, the consideration required for the use is displayed directly as a reminder (see below). If you click on "Agree and Download", the created graphic will be saved as .jpg and .png in one ZIP file downloaded.
As shown in the graphic above, there are some requirements for using the free logo. If you use DesignEvo for free, you should share it on its social channels (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.), in the blog or on the appropriately equipped website. If you don't want to give credit, it costs money. And that brings us to the pricing for free and professional use.
For the best package, which includes the copyrights to the image, the fonts as a download for the corporate identity as well as vector graphics and a transparent .png graphic with up to 5.000 x 5.000 pixels, you pay 34,54 euros. If the logo is intended for a start-up, an aspiring blog, an association or a company that has just gone online, then it is definitely worth it. Multinational corporations with huge budgets are sure to take the professional route via a designer who also clarifies that the ultimate logo does not look too much like that of another company / brand.
If you want to create a 500 Px logo for the wedding website, blog or other small project and also agree to use DesignEvo as the source of supply, you should use the service. The various packages “Standard” and “Plus” also provide (comparatively inexpensive) offers for more professional use as well as the purchase of the fonts used, the copyrights and so on.
With a tight budget it is definitely a good solution - but not a 100 percent replacement for a designer who understands his trade and with the motto “less is more” can pack the company philosophy into a manageable graphic, where inexperienced users may be much too overloaded Create graphics that look rather daunting in the end ...
After graduating from high school, Johannes completed an apprenticeship as a business assistant specializing in foreign languages.
