Data of the three Mavic Mini flight modes C, P, S

The DJI Mavic Mini drone has three flight modes, which differ in the maximum speeds as well as the angle of inclination and angular speeds of the aircraft. The C mode (“C” for short) is the cinema mode. This is the slowest setting. The P mode ("P" for short) is the standard setting. The S mode (“S” for short) stands for sport, which is the fastest setting. In this overview you can quickly and easily see the differences between the three flight options:

Mode "C" (cinema) Mode "P" (standard) Mode "S" (Sport)
Max. Climbing speed 1,5 m / s 2 m / s 4 m / s
Max. Sink rate 1 m / s 1,8 m / s 3 m / s
Max flight speed 4 m / s 8 m / s 13 m / s
Max. Angle of inclination 20° 20° 30°
Max. Angular velocity 30 ° / s 130 ° / s 150 ° / s

The gimbal stabilizes the camera by compensating for the drone's movements on three axes. Rolling, tilting and swiveling are the names of the movements on the three axes that actively prevent the images from jerking. In addition, these controllable gimbal movements serve to move the camera and thus record more of the environment.

  • Stabilization on three axes: tilt, roll and swivel
  • Mechanical range, tilt: -110 ° to + 35 °
  • Mechanical range, rolling: -35 ° to + 35 °
  • Mechanical range, swiveling: -20 ° to + 20 °
  • Controllable range, tilt: -90 ° to 0 ° (standard), -90 ° to + 20 ° (extended)
  • Max. Controllable speed, tilting: 120 ° / s
  • Angular accuracy: ± 0,01 °

Detection system (environmental sensors)

  • Detections downwards: 0,5 to 10 m
  • Environment detection: non-reflective, very different surfaces;  Diffuse reflections (> 20%); Sufficient lighting (lux> 15)

In addition to the aircraft itself, which has many functions for safe flight, as well as the gimbal and its functions, the camera is one of the most important components of the drone. Here you will find the most important technical data of the camera in the DJI Mavic Mini.

Extended storage with microSD cards

The DJI Mavic Mini drone supports microSD cards with the file systems listed above (FAT32 or exFAT). Storage sizes of 16 GB, 32 GB, 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB are possible. Both DJI and I encourage you to go to a SanDiskmemory card to grab. This should have at least UHS-I speed class 3. You can find more tips and information on buying SD cards here: Buying an SD card - you should pay attention to these points!

Fly Mavic Mini: DJI Fly App for iOS and Android

The "DJI Fly App" is used for the DJI Mavic Mini drone if you want to control it via your smartphone. This not only results in the live stream of what the camera is currently seeing and recording, but also makes it easier to activate the flight modes and recording features. The QuickShot features "Dronie", "Rocket", "Circles" and "Helix" can be activated via the display with a short tap - this works on the iPhone from iOS 10.0 and on other smartphones from Android 6.0. You can of course find the download of the app in the App Store.

DJI Mavic Mini pricing and purchase options

On official DJI shop page you will find two purchase options for the Mavic Mini drone. The standard package costs 399 euros and brings you the aircraft, a battery, a charger, the necessary cables, a remote control with a replacement control stick and a pair of replacement propellers, a gimbal protector, screws and a screwdriver. That's not too much and buying accessories isn't fun.

Therefore, you should go straight to the DJI Mavic Mini Fly More Combo. The “Fly More Combo” offers include more accessories and replacement parts in the scope of delivery of every drone - in addition to two additional batteries, a propeller protection and a transport case, there are further pairs of propellers and screws. All together for 499 euros, which is okay.

The standard version and the fly-more option are now also available on Amazon. If the item is in stock, you will benefit from fast Prime Shipping, among other things. You will also find a few customer reviews as well as customer questions and answers on the product page. It is best to compare the delivery times of the two shops; depending on production and inventory, there may be an advantage here and there.

Update 2021: DJI FPV drone as an offer for speed fans

With the DJI FPV, the market-leading drone manufacturer has released a ready-to-fly set for the "first person view". In addition to the drone with a speed of up to 2021 km / h, the set, published in early March 140, also includes the appropriate controller and VR glasses to which the camera recordings are transmitted in real time. The complete overview of technical data, scope of delivery, accessories and Co. can be found with this link. With the contribution you will also get some pictures and videos so that you can get a comprehensive insight.

Of course, the DJI FPV, which can record great videos with up to 4K resolution and 60 frames per second, can also be used for film recordings, videos and holiday impressions - even if there is no chase to be recorded: D You can take photos and videos on one Save a microSDXC card, which can be used both in the drone itself and in the goggles, i.e. the associated headset. You can read which SD memory card is recommended for the DJI FPV in the post linked here. You will also find many more guides, news and recommendations on DJI drones and other quadrocopters here in the blog.

You can find even more information and help - also and above all on Apple devices, operating systems and apps - at Sir Applerot Forum as well as once a week Sir Apfelot newsletter.
