If you want to buy and use a car, you are confronted with numerous costs: paying off the purchase price, insurance, taxes, depreciation and so on. If you add all that up, then a subscription model can be a very attractive alternative. And that's exactly what I found at FINN recently. On the FINN website you can choose the right car, take out a subscription, have the car delivered to your front door and then use it. Whether 6 months or two years - different periods of use can be selected. I have summarized further information and requirements for using the FINN service in this article.
Chapter in this post:
FINN subscription: Use cars with more flexibility
Compared to buying or leasing a car, FINN's subscription options are of course much more flexible. The provider advertises the car rental with, among other things, "Everything included except refueling“, which is quite interesting in addition to the short transit times and delivery to the front door. In addition to the monthly installments, there are no high down payments or hidden costs. Anyone who meets all the requirements can complete the subscription in less than 10 minutes and even drive with a clear conscience. Because FINN advertises that the CO2-Compensate emissions and support environmental protection projects.
Requirements for the car subscription at FINN
As with any car rental, various requirements must be met and certain documents must be presented at FINN. Here I have listed the most important points so that you know directly whether FINN's offer is something for you:
- Customers must have a German registration address
- Must be between the ages of 18 and 75 (drivers under 23 have access to vehicles under 150 kW or 203 hp)
- Must have a valid EU driving license that does not expire during the subscription period
- A valid identification document must be presented
- Customers must have held a category B driving license for at least two years
The presence of driver's license and ID document will be checked during registration and verification. Only after successful verification and if the data match can the subscription be taken out and a car or commercial vehicle booked with FINN. There are different sizes and price ranges to choose from.
Car brands and prices available at FINN
According to the supplier, the top brands at FINN include Audi, BMW, Tesla, Dacia, FIAT, Jeep, Kia, Land Rover, MINI, Mitsubishi, Ford, Peugeot, Polestar, VW, Seat and Renault. So basically all common and well-known brands that can be found on the German car market. Here I have put together a small selection of models and their monthly prices for you (selection prices from the car overview; the final costs vary depending on the term and inclusive kilometers):
- BMW 1 Series: €529 per month

For choosing the right car you will find on the provider website different filters. Do you choose z. For example, if you select all available subscription cars instead of a specific brand, the filters can help you find exactly the right offer. With the filters you set, for example, "Price ascending" or "Price descending"; but there are also options for vehicle type, gearshift, fuel, runtime, availability and price range. Cars with a trailer hitch, offers for business customers and cars for drivers under the age of 23 can also be filtered.
Runtimes for the car subscription from FINN
When filtering by the runtimes, you will see various options that you can use. If you know that you want to use the car for a longer period of time, then a subscription period of 24 months is certainly suitable. But there are also offers for 13 months, 12 months, 9 months, 6 months and the Flex subscription. The latter ensures particularly flexible use and quick cancellation of the offer. However, this is also reflected in the higher price. Just click on a car's product page; there you can see the prices for different terms and including kilometers per month.
You can find out what you need to know about the individual subscriptions, when they start after booking, how the delivery is structured, what happens in the event of insurance or damage, how the return is processed, what business customers need to know and much more in the form of an FAQ with all important questions and answers on the page linked above. There are also special overviews for electric cars on subscription, information on the loyalty program and the bonus program as well as advice on everything to do with cars. Just scroll down on the website, there you will find the links to the corresponding subpages.
There are only big cars. And then not even the color is configurable. There is only one motor and one gearbox.
Hi Beatrice! I think they will initially have to start with just a few car models. It's certainly not a "build-to-order", otherwise you would have to wait forever for the cars. 😂
I admit I'm spoiled. Order a car (on the phone) – pick up the car – drop off the car. The funnest part is usually finding the car.
I thought they beeped and flashed when you pressed the car key. 😊
