So that you don't have to use too many adapters when connecting a Mac mini, iMac or MacBook Pro / Air to an external monitor, you should use a USB-C monitor directly. The displays and monitors mentioned below with USB Type C as a connection for video and audio content have their own advantages and disadvantages. For example, some bring built-in speakers. Others are particularly recommended for the home office, but not so great for gaming or movie playback / streaming due to "backlight bleeding". LG 27UN83A - 27 inches, 4K resolution
Apple even uses LG panels for their MacBooks, which is not least due to the fact that LG delivers good quality here. I already have details about the ultra-fine monitors in an older post summarized. However, this one is not an Ultrafine, but it is also significantly cheaper. Dell S2719DC - 27 inches, 2K resolution, thin and swiveling
This external display for Mac, iMac and MacBook Pro / Air also has a screen diagonal of 27 inches (68,6 cm), but no 4K resolution. It is a model with 2K resolution, i.e. 2.560 x 1.440 pixels. That is more than Full HD (1.920 x 1.080 pixels) and therefore offers a sharper picture than such models. That should be enough, especially for the home office, word processing, programming and private projects without a professional requirement. However, one seems to need a little luck with the purchase; a review at Amazon is headed "Bleeding of Death" and thus indicates lighting problems. Most of the reviews have 5 stars.

Like the Asus model listed above, this monitor is also advertised with FlickerLess technology and a so-called blue light filter. According to the manufacturer, there are also ComfyView technology, sRGB, Super Sharpness technology and a resolution of 2 x 2.560 pixels for 1.440K. The connection of Apple computers is not only possible via USB-C / Thunderbolt 3, but also via DisplayPort and HDMI. With a total of 74%, most of the ratings are “good” to “very good”. Above all, the sharp picture is praised. The old problem of backlight bleeding also seems to be a given with some mounting goods. 4K monitors with 32 to 37,5 inches and price drop
In another post (click here) I've already shown you a couple of large monitors with USB-C ports for Mac and MacBook. The 4K monitors with Thunderbolt / USB Type C and a display diagonal of 31,5, 32, 34 and 37,5 inches are in the higher price segment. However, the contribution is almost two years old, so that the price reduction for the largest device is already 354,05 euros (as of July 2019). Check it out!
Inexpensive WUXGA alternative without USB-C
If you do not find the displays listed above and shown in the linked articles appealing due to the higher prices, then there are of course alternatives. If you forego a high resolution for home use and connect the Apple Mac, iMac or MacBook via USB-C / Thunderbolt 3, you can save a few euros. For example with the Dell U2415. It offers a resolution of 24 x 61,2 pixels on 1.920 inches (1.200 cm screen diagonal). This is a little more vertically than with Full HD (there are 1.080 pixels), which is why the resolution is called Widescreen Ultra Extended Graphics Array, i.e. WUXGA. Apple Pro Display XDR
If you have the absolute Pro performance in mind and want crystal clear colors with high contrast, the best color fidelity and a short response time, you might want to wait for the Apple Pro Display XDR. This was presented together with the Apple Mac Pro 2019 as part of the WWDC19 keynote. The 32 ″ Retina 6K display is made for creative pro users who use the output device professionally. Otherwise, the cost of $ 4999 and $ 5999, respectively, is unlikely to be covered. Speaking of wearing, the Pro Stand costs an additional $ 999.
