Some users have observed and reported that their iPhone 6s shut itself off even though it still shows more than 50% battery capacity. The problem that the device cannot be switched on even after being charged several times has also been reported. Like the news agency to Reuters Now reported, the problem was picked up by the CCA and Apple asked to offer a solution. In response, there is now an exchange program for certain models.
"Apple has found that a very small number of iPhone 6s devices may turn off unexpectedly. This is not a safety issue and only affects devices in a limited series of serial numbers that were manufactured between September and October 2015.“Writes Apple on the page set up for the problem in english. The following options are given for the exchange program:
Cell phone providers are not integrated in the program according to the side. Apple also gives tips on how to proceed before handing in the devices: first make a backup of the data, then switch off "Find my Phone" and finally delete all data. If there is any damage that could make it difficult to replace the battery (broken display, etc.), it should be repaired first. The user bears any costs that may arise.
When you have the problem and you already have made a battery replacement have or have had it carried out, then you can request a reimbursement from Apple. For this you have to Apple support to contact. If you are currently observing the problem with your device, but do not want to submit or send it in, you can change the battery yourself. The first link in this paragraph leads you to the advice I wrote for this case;)
Slightly more critical pages such as PatentlyApple write on the topic: "When it comes to a complaint from China, Apple is quick to respond. With China on the warpath with Western tech companies, Apple doesn't want to make waves, especially not before the important Christmas season.“- be that as it may, at least there is now an exchange program. Or what do you think about it? Feel free to leave a comment!

Hello
How can I find out (without) having to go to a shop whether I also have a candidate for an exchange?
(So determine the production date)
Thank you
Hello!
This is a very good question. The first thing you should do is find out the serial number of your device. Depending on the iOS version, this may work Settings -> General -> Info.
Then you can either directly from Apple or auf dieser seite try to get the necessary information.
Good luck!
Hello Johannes.
Thanks for the information that I tried out. The first link (Dutch) did not work properly. The message came that the serial number is unknown. Apple redirected me to the support URL. The number could be checked on the telephone support. I actually have an affected device. This for your information and thank you very much.
Hello!
Thanks for the feedback. Yes, the Dutch side already looks a bit older. But I thought it might be worth a try. I'm glad that Apple was able to help and that you now have certainty. You are welcome to keep me up to date and report on the progress of the battery replacement. Thank you and have a nice first advent :)
