On Monday Apple the new iPhone operating system iOS 17 presented. This will appear in the fall for the company's compatible smartphones. But which devices get the upgrade? These iPhone models are compatible with iOS 17

Compared to iOS 16 So the support for the iPhone X, the iPhone 8 and the iPhone 8 Plus will be dropped. All three devices were released in 2017. The iPhone SE 2 was released in 2020 and the iPhone SE 3 was released in 2022. With the XS, XS Max and XR models, however, iPhone models from 2018 are also supported. In addition, the 15 series will be equipped with the new operating system. This means that when iOS 17 is released, six iPhone years will be supported again.
When will the upgrade to iOS 17 appear?
The new version of iOS will be rolled out for the above models in autumn 2023. There is currently one Beta version for developers, but this is not intended for everyday use. Based on Apple's actions so far, one can speculate that the new iPhone 15 will be presented in September. With its release, iOS 17 should also be made available as an upgrade for older models. So if you want to use the new functions and options of the finished operating system, you have to wait at least a quarter of a year.
