Marina Abramović presents Traces - Pick of the week KW39

I recently heard about an interesting digital art project through a link that a friend sent me. The interactive exhibition, which you can view directly in the web browser, is called "Marina Abramović presents Traces" and is an offer from WeTransfer. The site not only offers the possibility for all users to send large files to others via cloud storage, there is also an artistic approach. And you can discover this with “Marina Abramović presents Traces”, among other things. There you can move a quartz crystal, a Mars stone and more with the mouse or trackpad.

TL; DR: Click here to go directly to the exhibition

The position of the mouse cursor determines the lighting in this quartz crystal. You can rotate it by clicking, holding and dragging. This also works for the other digitally exhibited objects.

Who is Marina Abramović?

Marina Abramović is a Serbian artist born in 1946 who is best known for her performance art. She devoted herself to art as early as the late 1960s and began performing her first performances in the 1970s. From 1976 to 1988 she interwoven her private life, her partnership with Ulay (Frank Uwe Laysiepen) and her art. This resulted in the first art projects of worldwide renown. More recently, Marina Abramović has gained notoriety primarily through “The Artist is Present”, which was realized in 2010 at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. With “Traces” on WeTransfer, five objects are displayed digitally and interactively.

Discover even more about WePresent

You can access the other art offerings and corresponding exhibitions from WeTransfer via this link: https://wepresent.wetransfer.com - On this WePresent page you can discover numerous other offers from artists. And you don't even need an account for that. In addition to art and exhibitions, freely accessible articles are also shared, sometimes a retrospective on a career, sometimes an aid for budding artists. Either way, you can always discover something new with a click on the different tiles that represent the offer. And that's why this is my pick of the week :)

The "WePresent" offer on the WeTransfer page shows a lot more art, insights and advice.
