Recently the site conducted an extensive laptop comparison, and the result may be surprising to some: The Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2 has emerged as the test winner!

And this despite the fact that Apple models, which are so popular with many younger users, were not taken into account in the comparison. In this article we would like to introduce you to the test winner in more detail and also explain why Apple was not included this time.

Introducing the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2

When you think of Microsoft, the first thing that comes to mind is probably the Windows operating system or the Office programs. But the company has also made impressive progress in the hardware area in recent years. One of the outstanding products is undoubtedly the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2.

Design and workmanship

The Surface Laptop Go 2 impresses with its slim and elegant design - but unfortunately not in Space Grey. The housing is made of high-quality aluminum alloy, which not only looks good but also ensures stability. Weighing just 1,11 kg, it is also light enough to easily take with you anywhere.

Price-Performance Ratio

The price of the Surface Laptop Go 2 is quite reasonable for the quality and performance it offers. Of course, there are cheaper laptops on the market, but if you're looking for a reliable and durable device that's suitable for both work and play, then this laptop is worth considering.

Why weren't Apple models included in the comparison?

Apple and especially the MacBook series have made a name for themselves over the years. Many people - including me - appreciate the slim design macOS operating system and the high quality of workmanship. But why were they left out of this particular comparison?

First of all: Of course I'm just speculating since I didn't make the comparison. But I still thought of a few ideas as to why Apple devices might have been excluded here.

Too high a price

Apple products are notoriously not cheap. While they're undoubtedly high quality, the higher prices might be off-putting for many users, especially if you're looking for a laptop for basic tasks and don't necessarily need all the features of a MacBook.

Different target group

Apple often positions its products as premium devices. This means they may not be the first choice for everyone, especially if you're looking for a cheaper or easy-to-use laptop.

Operating system other than Windows

macOS is a fantastic operating system, but it differs from Windows in many ways. Some of you may prefer to stick with the operating system you are familiar with, especially if you have already purchased software for Windows.

market positioning

Apple has always positioned itself as a brand for creatives, while Microsoft has tried to appeal to both creatives and business professionals. This could be another reason why a MacBook was not included in a “business notebook” comparison.

The MacBook Air M2 is probably the hit for people who work a lot on the battery. The M1 version was already very convincing here.
My personal test winner is the MacBook Pro M2 - light, fast, long battery life and it runs macOS and not Windows. ;-)

The Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2 has proven to be a worthy test winner in comparison. With its combination of design, performance and price, it offers an excellent option for anyone looking for a reliable business notebook.

The absence of Apple MacBooks in the comparison may be surprising to some, but ok... the creator of the comparison certainly has his reasons. Personally, I think the MacBook models should be listed, because for many people an Apple laptop might be a better alternative to a Windows notebook.

The new Apple operating system macOS Sonoma is a blessing for beginners and I have also received this assessment from readers who come from Windows and have switched to the Mac.

Regardless of whether you choose the Surface Laptop Go 2, a MacBook or a completely different model or even an Apple device, the most important thing is that you find a device that meets your needs and reliably supports you in everyday life.
