[Updated] NuraLoop - in-ear headphones with sound adjustment now in Germany

The Australian manufacturer Nura has now brought its NuraLoop in-ear headphones to German retailers. The earplugs, which weigh 25 grams, offer active noise canceling, more than 16 hours of runtime on one battery charge and touch buttons for operation. However, they are unique due to the individual sound adjustment, which is carried out through a one-minute listening test. Up to three hearing profiles can be saved, making the music, radio play or podcast experience perfect for the respective users. Bluetooth 5 and aptx HD are supported for the wireless connection; but also the handle can be used.

Update 08.09.2020/XNUMX/XNUMX: New firmware improves functionality

It is also important to mention that the hearing test with the headphones can be carried out individually for the left and right ears. The volume is determined individually for each ear - for the perfect listening experience. In addition, a firmware update for the Nuraloop headphones is available as of today, which improves some functions and adds new ones. Below is a list of the improvements:

  • Enhancement for on / off and seal detection: By means of the coupling with the Nura app on the smartphone, it can be seen how well the headphones seal against the ear. In addition, it is now easier to recognize whether they are being worn or not, so that the automatic on / off function is better used.
  • Manual switching on and off: In addition to the automatic on / off function, which leads to switching on when putting on and switching off when removing the Nuraloop headphones, this can now also be done manually. For manual operation, both touch surfaces are pressed at the same time. A period of time can also be set up after which the headphones go into sleep mode even in manual setting.
  • Double tap for functions: Before the firmware update, which has been available since today, the functions of the Nuraloop headphones (setting volume, activating / deactivating ANC, etc.) could be controlled by tapping and circling the touch surfaces once. Now double tapping can also be used, which allows further functions.
  • Better voice quality: The headphones have microphones that can be used e.g. B. can be telephoned. The voice quality is increased with the firmware update.
  • Less latency when using analog cable: The Nuraloop earplugs can be used not only via Bluetooth, but also via an analog cable with a jack connection. For this purpose, there had recently been reports from users about latencies. After the update, the problem should be largely resolved.

NuraLoop - Bluetooth headphones with cable option

The sweat- and water-resistant (IPX3) headphones can be used as wireless, sturdy earphones for sports. For stationary use, you can not only couple via Bluetooth, but also connect to the audio source via a 3,5 mm jack cable. Such a cable is included in the scope of delivery, which also includes the USB charging cable, earplugs in four sizes, a travel bag and of course the NuraLoop headphones themselves.

The NuraLoop in-ear headphones are small, light and flexible. The jack cable or the USB charging cable are connected via the magnetic connector on the connection cable.

Nuraphone was just the beginning

Nura was founded by Luke Campbell, a trained ENT surgeon. After the idea for “Nuraphone” from him and his team at Kickstarter brought in 1,8 million Australian dollars, he quit his job in 2016 and started producing the combination of over-ear and in-ear headphones. The Nuraphone listeners are delighted for example at Amazon mainly good and very good ratings. A lot has happened since the Nuraphone headphones, so that the over-ear part is no longer required and NuraLoop is intended to offer even more audio quality and wearing comfort. What do you think?
