Unfortunately, I have been using the program orgaMAX [under Windows with Parallels Desktop->parallels-desktop] to write invoices for years. "Unfortunately" because I don't really like having to turn on the virtual Windows PC for certain programs. In my case, however, switching to another program would mean a lot of work, which I have been able to successfully avoid so far.
Chapter in this post:
Online banking login reports errors despite correct PIN
The actual content of this blog post should, however, highlight a problem that I encountered a few weeks ago when I changed my online banking PIN at the Sparkasse and instead of the normal four digits I used a six-digit PIN.
Shortly afterwards I wanted to call up the sales via the banking access in orgaMAX as usual, but got the message that the authentication had failed with every login attempt. And how it works: After three attempts, my online banking access was blocked. I was 100% sure that I had entered the correct combination of numbers.
The error message at orgaMAX is like this for me:
LetsTrade2 error! Error message:
Error message: Dialog canceled (HBMSG = 10321) (9800); Login name or PIN is incorrect. (9931); PlN / TAN check failed (9010); Approved two-step procedures for the user. (3920)
Support helped: shorten the PIN to 5 digits when logging in
After changing the PIN several times and being kicked out of the online banking system several times, I was a little desperate and asked the orgaMAX support why I always got the message that my PIN was wrong.
The answer was helpful and surprising at the same time. Helpful because I was actually able to call up the sales again afterwards, but surprising because I was told that instead of the six digits used in the PIN, I should only enter the first five as a PIN. There would be a problem with the transfer of the data and it would usually work if you just typed in five digits and then clicked on.
I am glad that I can now retrieve the sales again, but I find it very strange behavior. Whether it is due to orgaMAX or a component of online banking or the savings bank, I cannot say, but user-friendly is different. ;)
