Apple confirmed rumors about a product launch on March 8, 2022 less than a week in advance. Yesterday there was the announcement for the "Peek Performance" event, which can be followed online from 19:00 p.m. local time. If you look at the MarchKeynote If you want to watch this year live, then you can do that via the already set up YouTube stream do. Peek performance Incidentally, this is a play on words made up of “peek” (“to peek” or “quick glance”) and “peak performance” (“high performance”). So there will be new top performances to see, maybe a Mac mini with M1 Pro or M1 Max or MacBooks with M2 chip.

What will Apple announce on March 8, 2022?
Almost a month ago, I compiled the new devices that could be presented from Cupertino next week: Apple Event in March - What can we expect? In short: the iPhone SE (3rd gen), a MacBook Pro with an M2 chip and possibly other Mac models. You can also find a possible timetable for the Apple devices that are due to be launched in 2022 in this article: Apple's device plans for 2022 (according to Mark Gurman). If you're not a fan of speculation, you can just wait for the Apple Special Event on Tuesday. You can find the official announcement and countdown with these links: Event page / Newsroom.
What performance will the M2 chip bring?
Apple will certainly pursue the strategy of marketing its simply named "Apple Silicon" chips, which serve as the SoC in current Mac, iMac and MacBook models, to entry-level users. That is to say that the M2 chip expected for Tuesday will offer better performance than the M1 chip (first introduced in 2020) but will not be stronger than it M1 Pro or M1 Max (2021). There will probably also be "only" a 13-inch model of the MacBook Pro with the M2. 14-inch and 16-inch versions with the M2 Pro and M2 Max can be expected again in the fall.
