Chapter in this post:
I think the NDR's “The Coronavirus Update with Christian Drosten” podcast is perfect for getting comprehensive information - without any clickbait headlines in the online news. For me it has become part of everyday life that I listen to the last edition of the podcast in the morning to start the day informed. Mr. Drosten can explain well, so that even a layperson understands what a double-blind study is or why drugs for SARS-CoV do not work with SARS-CoV-2. I also find his critical view of studies pleasant, WhatsApp chain letters to ibuprofen or similar things that are currently circulating on the Internet. So if you tend to avoid unsafe sources or even want to counter them, is in good hands here.
Who is this Prof. Dr. Christian Drosten?
Christian Drosten is a virologist researching and teaching in Germany as well as a university lecturer. He is considered one of the co-discoverers of the SARS-CoVVirus – He made his findings on the discoveries and the diagnostic test he helped to develop in 2003 available to other scientists via the Internet before it was published in the specialist press. With this prior knowledge, it is not surprising that Drosten's research group researched the MERS-CoV virus in 2012 and developed a test for the SARS-CoV-2020 virus in January 2. This test was made available worldwide.

In summary it says in his Wikipedia article: "Drosten is committed to the transparent dissemination of scientific data and therefore publishes in specialist journals such as Eurosurveillance, where all articles are freely available online." - Prof. Dr. Christian Drosten is the right person to talk to on the subject and therefore probably the very best source of information for the NDR podcast. Incidentally, he has received several awards for his achievements; including the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon in 2005. More information is available at Charité website. Take a look and listen and everyone stays healthy! :)
