The Sir Apfelot app for iOS on the iPhone - it's finally ready and available for download! After looking for an iOS developer in November last year, among other things, here in the blog had been looking for, not only the search, but also the development of the application for iOS 11 and newer is over. If you want to view the contents of this blog, all guides, news, test reports, instructions, recommendations and reviews directly via the app on your iPhone, then just install the around 16 MB application and thus always stays up to date;)

The career path: programmer, problems and solutions

I have to admit, I thought things would be a little simpler. Before I started looking for an iOS programmer, I tried various services that offered to convert a Wordpress blog into an iOS app. It was already clear to me that you can't customize much here, but I didn't expect that anything halfway usable would fall out. I think I had tried a total of three such WordPress to app services but all failed.

My search for a programmer, mentioned above, was successful at some point after I got the tip from a developer, whose app I presented on the blog, to contact an iOS developer who was friends with him. And we actually came to an agreement relatively quickly. As the saying goes: the chemistry was right! Together we made a plan of which features the app should get, which version two it could get and how the whole thing should be implemented optically. After a few months of planning and development, version 1 was recently completed, which has now also landed in the app store.

If any of you are also planning to "pour" a Wordpress blog into an iOS app, then I can put you in touch with the programmer. There is no ready-made solution to this problem that is even remotely good enough to present to its readers. And ultimately, nothing beats your own app, which you can also customize at any point in order to improve the user experience or to incorporate interesting features.

And yes: of course, the app must also be available for the iPad. But for financial reasons I first had to bake small rolls and will then deliver the iPad version of the app soon. I will certainly inform you about this update with a small post in the blog when the time comes.
