Chapter in this post:
The new Smartmi P2 air purifier is a mobile air filter system with a passage value of up to 240 m3 per hour. With a ceiling height of 2,5 meters, the air in a room of 96 m2 surface are filtered. The Smartmi P2 comes with an H13 HEPA filter, which is said to filter 99,97% of dust and suspended particles. Two laser sensors measure the concentration of foreign matter in the air, so that the air purifier can determine the amount of air to be sucked in in automatic mode. The control can be done on the device as well as via App and voice input can be made.
The air purifier Smartmi P2 measures just 22 cm in diameter and 37 cm in height. According to the manufacturer Smartmi, it is twice as powerful as comparably handy air filters despite being battery-powered. Within ten minutes, at the highest level, the room air of a 28,8 m2 large room can be passed through the device (varies depending on the room height, see calculation above). The battery promises a running time of up to 24 hours, so that air purification can also be carried out permanently. 99,97% of particles larger than 80 nm are filtered out.
Small objection: The Smartmi P2 air filter is currently not yet available, but on the manufacturer's website you can subscribe to a mailing list for the start of sales and at the same time secure a 30% discount.
The use of the multi-layer filter in the handy device can be realized via the touch display on the top. There is also the Smartmi Link app for smartphones, which can be used to view the measured air quality and regulate the suction level of the device. Furthermore, the Smartmi P2 air purifier can also be controlled via HomeKit or Siri as well as via Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. Once the air in a room has been cleaned, you can simply grab it by the handle and carry it to the next room. However, allergy sufferers can also take it with them to the hotel, Airbnb or friends.
The problem with laser cutting and laser engraving is that you produce quite a bit of smoke and you don't always have a fume hood over the laser cutter. So far I've either opened all the windows and hoped that the Nest smoke detector wouldn't respond or I've got one pretty much large, wired air filter (which is still a recommendation!) and put it next to the table.
But this Smartmi air filter could be placed directly on the table and catch the smoke there. I will soon test how well this works in practice, because the manufacturer has promised to send me one of the next available test devices.
You can find even more product images, usage examples and information about the device and how to use it on the official homepage. This is used before the market launch for general information and for cheap advance orders. From the time the device enters the market, it can be bought there at the regular price. In addition, as with the Smartmi P1, there will again be different filters for individual requirements: PM2.5, pollen, animal hair / odor, etc.
