The Sir-Apfelot-Blog is ad-free (with the exception of a few "sponsor" and "advertisement" posts). And it should stay that way in the future. The Sir-Apfelot app for iPhone and iPad will also still not contain any annoying advertising. The difficulty here: the offer has to make money so that I can fill the blog with content on a regular basis. A little money comes in via affiliate links to Amazon and other shops - but not enough to let Sir Apfelot grow as a project and make it even better. So here's a little guide on my own behalf: You can support me directly in 2020 and beyond via “Steady”.
Right this way: This is my way to my steady page
Chapter in this post:
So you can support Sir Apfelot at Steady!
“Do you have a euro?” - I ask this question to every reader here without further ado. Those who have been around for a while may know the article You can now support Sir Apfelot at Steady from May 2019. In it I explain what Steady is, how and with what amounts you can support me and what the whole thing should bring. Here again all the information in the short version:
- Steady is like Patreon, only in German and less geared towards “perks”
- The platform is used to financially support bloggers, video artists, authors or other people whose projects are great
- I have created three subscription models: 1 euro, 3 euros or 10 euros per month
- The payments of individual readers not only ensure that the blog costs are covered, but also special expenses
- Future projects (other app solutions, a podcast or other) are thus within reach
What do you get from Sir Apfelot's financial support?
If you support me and my blog via Steady with one or a few more euros per month, then I can - as already mentioned - spend more time working on the site and its content. In addition, I can use the "bought" time to answer comments and the questions in them, to solve your Mac problems, to write instructions and reviews, and, and, and. So you get your investment back through content and services. The more independent I become from other work through Steady, the more time I have for quality assurance of all Sir-Apfelot offers as well as for the development and implementation of new offers;)
Sounds good? Then feel free to participate!

Jens has been running the blog since 2012. He acts as Sir Apfelot for his readers and helps them with technical problems. In his spare time he rides electric unicycles, takes photos (preferably with the iPhone, of course), climbs around in the Hessian mountains or hikes with the family. His articles deal with Apple products, news from the world of drones or solutions to current bugs.
Hey, that's a good idea. I hope there are more supporters. Keep it up sir!
Hi! Thank you for your support. I just got the email from Steady. : D I also hope that a few more people can be found, but the support of a few is also very welcome.
Hi Jens,
I would like to support you, but I would like to do it the old-fashioned way, because I don't even know what Steady means although I'm not exactly thrilled with the current transfer process with TAN.
It took me almost an hour yesterday to get my transfer done. The constant new TAN's got me excited and then finally it said: "Technical problem, try again later."
Why are they putting out a program that is so vulnerable?
Greetings from Berlin

Hello Irene! Thanks for the kind words and sorry for the nasty online banking. I think this current security change is causing despair for many users, as the software of some banks has obviously not been tested properly. I sent you my IBAN by email. Thanks for the support!
