When switching on, when switching off and also when unlocking the iPhone 14 Pro (Max) some users may see yellow or green lines on a black background on the display. These brief flashing stripes stretch horizontally from one side of the screen to the other. There are pictures of what the whole thing can look like, along with error descriptions from the respective users, on the community page from Apple as well at Reddit. A hardware error should not be to blame for the display strips. Apple wants to deal with them promptly with an iOS update.
Chapter in this post:
Yellow and green lines on the iPhone 14 Pro (Max) display
More and more reports about the graphics errors in the current Pro models of Apple smartphones are accumulating on the web. In addition to the linked pages with photos of the bugs, there are other reports, including additional threads on Apple's community site and Reddit. What they all have in common is that the sometimes green and sometimes yellow lines, sometimes individually and sometimes across the entire display, can appear when switching on, off and unlocking. But they only show up briefly. This graphic error flare up, like that berichtet MacRumors, referring to an internal Apple memo, is said to be resolved with a software update.
Graphic bug could be fixed with iOS 16.2.1
Last month Apple already released an update for iOS 16 published, with which the iPhone operating system has reached version 16.2 (changes affected e.g AirDrop and Freeform). The next, bigger update should come in February. Currently iOS 16.3 is still in the beta phase. However, an interim step for the iPhone system issued by Apple could put an end to the yellow and green stripes on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max displays. So if soon iOS 16.2.1 under Settings -> General -> software update is displayed, it should be installed on these devices.
