Apple September Keynote 2018 - start

Today's Apple Special Event, the so-called September Keynote or the “iPhone Event”, took place for the second time in the Steve Jobs Theater. It started with a video showing the Steve Jobs Theater and then an Apple employee rushing out of her office in Apple Park because the presentation is about to start and she has to deliver a suitcase. With the help of Siri and taking all sorts of hurdles, as well as with the "Mission Impossible" music in the background, she makes it close to just before, but does not come backstage with her access card. Kevin, who appears to be able to beam himself, helps her. Tim Cook takes the case, in it: ... You can see here in the video:

At the end of the video, Tim Cook goes on stage with the clicker, which went seamlessly into the actual presentation, in which Tim Cook enters the stage with the device in hand. He briefly rolls out the history of innovations at Apple; starting with the Apple II and the Mac. He also talks about Apple stores around the world and the events that bring people together. Then of course there are figures again: iOS should run on two billion devices in the near future. The individual devices are firmly anchored in everyday life and today we're talking about two of Apple's most personal devices. First: the Apple Watch (and then the iPhone).

Apple Watch Series 4

The first Apple Watch Series 4 will be presented with videos (see below) and vivid graphics and animations. This now comes with 40 mm or 44 mm displays instead of 38 mm and 42 mm previously. The new size was used to create a completely new interface - along with many other innovations that should make the watch better in all areas of application.

Since it's already late and you don't want to plow through tens of lines of running text, here are the most important innovations as a list:

  • Larger display sizes with more than 30% more space
  • Every part of the user interface has been renewed
  • New watch face designs offer space for up to 8 individually adaptable surfaces; for pictures of contacts as quick selection areas; for health and fitness data, etc.
  • Third-party providers can also bring their data to the Watch Face (sports results, travel data, etc.)
  • Breath app now also as a watch face with three great designs
  • The Digital Crown (watch crown) now has haptic feedback, which allows more precise, mechanical scrolling
  • A new loudspeaker provides more volume for music, Siri, phone calls, etc.
  • The microphone is now on the other side, furthest away from the speaker to avoid echoes
  • The back is now made of black ceramic and crystal glass ("Crystal")
  • The new Apple-designed S4 chip doubles the CPU speed, and movement data is processed up to eight times faster
  • New emergency feature: if you fall or fall off a ladder, for example, the clock activates a one-minute function during which you can react. If you do not do this, an emergency call is automatically made and the emergency contact receives the location data of the watch wearer.
  • As rumored in advance, the Apple Watch now also has an electrode sensor (back and crown) for creating an electrocardiogram (ECG)
  • Apple Watch Series 4 is the first electrocardiogram machine to be sold directly to consumers; in the USA even with the approval of the FDA
  • As with all predecessors, battery life is up to 18 hours with average use
  • Outdoor workout function now with up to 6 hours of battery life

  1. Omg, the Xs is so cool, can't wait. The Xs looks so incredibly good. With Xs Max you got a little wrong in the name. But otherwise everything is back in true Apple style. They even have accessories here:
