Chapter in this post:
You can get the AUKEY PA-S12 mains charger with Schuko socket, 4 x USB-A and a total of 16A charging current from Amazon for only 19,99 EUR. 5V and 2,4A can be supplied per USB port. A total of 6A is available for the four connections, theoretically 1,5A with full occupancy and even load. Thanks to the built-in Schuko socket, in addition to Apple iPhone, iPad, iPod, Apple Watch and Android smartphone / tablet, you can also charge the Apple MacBook or another notebook or a Mac that desk lamp, The TV or do something else. The AUKEY PA-S12 mains charger performed well in the test.
The AUKEY PA-S12 mains charger with Schuko socket, 4 x USB-A and 16A in the packaging and in the "Hardcore" test with assignment of all connections.
The test of the AUKEY PA-S12 mains charger with Schuko socket, 4 x USB-A and a total of 16A charging current went very well. The delivery from the Amazon warehouse went first class again. The manufacturer AUKEY ordered it for me; So it's a free test device for me. However, this does not affect this test and its result.
The scope of delivery of the AUKEY PA-S12 charger with socket is very clear. In addition to the packaging, which is made of cardboard, the main thing is the loader. Nevertheless, here is a small list that shows you at a glance what to expect:

No less important than what you currently get for 19,99 EUR (as of December 2017) are of course the technical data and specifications of the device. Therefore, here is the most important information about the AUKEY PA-S12 mains charger:
Model | AUKEY 4 Port Built-In Wall Unit (PA-S12) |
Dimensions (H x W x D) | 9,9 cm x 5,7 cm x 3,3 cm |
Weight: | 161 grams |
Technology | AiPower Adaptive Charging |

AC output | AC 100 to 240V ~ 16A 3.800W |
USB outputs | 4 x 5V / 2,4A (max. 6A) |
According to the operating instructions for the AUKEY PA-S12 mains charger with Schuko socket, 4 x USB-A and a total of 16A charging current, the AiPower technology means that the charger automatically detects the devices connected to the USB ports and controls the charging current accordingly . Thus, on the one hand, the highest charging speed is promised, on the other hand, overcurrent, overcharge and short-circuit protection is guaranteed. The AiPower Adaptive Technology is supposed to make chargers safer than those without this feature.

You can buy the AUKEY PA-S12 charger on Amazon. Here it no longer costs EUR 26,99, but only EUR 19,99, which is worthwhile for such a practical gadget:
Among other things, I used a load resistor and a USB multimeter to work on the charger and connected both in series to one of the charger's USB outputs. As an endurance test, I then also occupied the three other ports and the AC socket ... The test result of this "hardcore" test is convincing: with a load resistance that is leveled to 2,4A, almost 5V is still offered and the other devices are still offered also supplied consistently. When testing with the USB multimeter, none of them drew the maximum 2,4A.
Both the USB multimeter and the load resistor confirm the maximum charging current of 2,4A per USB port.
When using the load resistor (from Yeeco), maximum values of 12V and 5A are possible. And the USB multimeter also measures up to 5A in the given configuration. This was the chance to put the AiPower Adaptive Technology to the test. So I slowly turned up the test device from Yeeco and tried to get from the AUKEY PA-S2,4 mains charger using the 12A specified as the maximum. The charge was interrupted when the test devices indicated just above 2,4A. So the protection against too much charging current works.

Personally, the green LED under the device's Schukodose doesn't bother me. On the one hand, I don't have it in view (usually in a power strip under the desk) and, on the other hand, I don't use the gadget in the bedroom. If you think the green LED is too bright in the dark, you can cover it with insulating tape or paint it darker with a marker pen;)
Since I have just rummaged through the Amazon product page again, maybe to find one or the other point that still needs to be addressed, I came across the buzzing or whirring problem. Then I listened carefully - I only hear a very, very quiet whirring when my ear is approx. 10 cm close to the device and nothing else is making any sounds. Since the charger is usually further away and I listen to music almost continuously, that doesn't bother me. In the bedroom it may be annoying if the socket is right at the head of the bed - but you can simply pull out the AUKEY device at night or charge your iPhone and Apple Watch somewhere else;)
In the AUKEY PA-S12 test, all of the manufacturer's promises were kept. Devices are charged with a maximum of 2,4A, the AC Schuko socket supplies power for all possible devices and even if all 4 USB ports are occupied, the devices are charged very quickly if possible. If you want to look up further opinions, customer questions and answers, reviews and star ratings, then I recommend the AUKEY PA-S12 Product page on Amazon.
