The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Playable today!

I don't know if you still remember the launch of the Nintendo Switch and the simultaneous release of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild in March 2017 remind. I still remember it well and also many of the 175+ hours I put into the game. As of today, the successor is finally available, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, ready to play. Whether as a digital download, as a physical module, with or without specially designed hardware or however you gamble - at least nobody needs to call or write me at the weekend; I'm in Hyrule!

Starting today, May 12, 2023, you can finally play The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom on the Nintendo Switch. I won't be available over the weekend :D (Image source: IGDB press material)

Various Nintendo deals for Zelda fans

Personally, I pre-ordered the game in physical form back in February. However, if you now click on the release for the Amazon product page look, you might come across a "Currently out of stock" notice. If you have a Nintendo Account and stored a payment method for it, you can switch to the Nintendo eShop, which can be accessed directly via the Nintendo Switch console. If you haven't saved a payment method, the shop is still useful. Because at Amazon you can a download code buy for it. In addition to the game software, there are again special editions of the hardware, both the console and the Pro Controller.

  1. Hello Sir Applerot,...

Thank you for your statement, I can empathize with your report all too well.
In anticipation of today's release, I played through BOTW again from the beginning. Not least because I had deleted my old save at some point (accidentally, of course).
We were prepared for this for a really long time, not least because of further postponements and complications on the part of my second favorite company after Apple.
So yesterday I visited Ganon in the castle for the second time. Just in time, because starting tomorrow we will be on our way again.

So let's wish for many new adventures and puzzles in Hyrule and Umzu.
