At the opening of WWDC in 2013, Apple showed an intro describing why Apple is Apple. Among other things, it included the saying “there are a thousand no's for every yes”.
This is intended to express how "tough" Apple's design strategy is: everything is questioned and much is discarded in order to come up with the right solution at some point, which is then implemented consistently.
You can watch the intro video for WWDC here - it is really worth seeing, although it only consists of dots and writing. According to comments on the Youtube thread, it was done by a company called BUCK. And it was probably implemented with Adobe After Effects and the Newton 2 plug-in.
