If you want to use or test a 3D printer, you need one thing above all: printable 3D models. You can either create it yourself or download it. The website offers a free option for downloading 3D templates Thingiverse.com. From decoration and tools to puzzle cubes and biscuit shapes to guitar picks and gadget accessories, everything is included and can be downloaded for free. I have put together a few impressions and features of the site for illustration in this post.
Chapter in this post:
Tidy website for free 3D model download
Thingiverse is a clear and easy-to-use site for downloading 3D models for free. For the individual templates there are usually some pictures and videos as well as a description / instructions from the creator. As a registered user, you can add the individual 3D printer models to your favorites, submit comments and document your own printing attempt. Of course, with a user account on the Thingiverse site, you can also upload, document and have comments from the community of your own. This way, concepts can be discussed and improved - if necessary.
App introduction: 3D scanner app for the Apple iPhone
Thingiverse is a website from the printer manufacturer MakerBot
If you're wondering how the 3D printer community website is financed, take a look at the About page or the website footer. There you will find the notice that the site is operated by MakerBot, a manufacturer that offers 3D printer devices for educational purposes and professional applications. You can get detailed information on MakerBot.com. The fact that a manufacturer of 3D printing devices takes care of a community page has a number of advantages: On the one hand, the manufacturer knows what is important with the print templates and their use; on the other hand, advertising does not appear everywhere on the site. I only saw advertisements for MakerBot in the slider on the start page, otherwise there is Thingiverse.com absolutely free of distraction.

It's just a pity that the site is actually dead - 504 bad gateway, slow, upload doesn't work properly - no more stl preview. The search indexes also no longer work properly. Find my “Things” only through my account page etc.
Hello Novo! I was on the page maybe 3-4 times and didn't get a single error message. Perhaps you have just timed out a period when maintenance was being carried out?
Have a look at grabcad.com. Despite free registration, there are plenty of 3D models here ????????. Have fun with it.
Thanks for the hint!
