WorldBloxer: Real cities as Minecraft worlds

Build real cities in Minecraft, automatically create maps

If you like to play Minecraft, but have a hard time building your own worlds, or if you have just started the building game, you could World Bloxer from GeoBoxers would be a good offer. For a current introductory price of 5 US dollars (later 8 US dollars) you can choose any location in the world and the program converts this location, including a radius of 1km², into a Minecraft map. The system is currently in beta, but individual results are quite impressive and offer a good introduction to a game that otherwise starts out in the wilderness.

This is how WorldBloxer works in detail

On Website GeoBoxers has detailed instructions on how to use WorldBloxer. After this, the first step is to choose a specific point on the map. In the next step you can choose the design of the map, i.e. different textures, materials, etc. The whole process is guided by an assistance program so that you can quickly find your way around. After making your selection, enter your email address and country. After the user has pressed "Pay", the creation of the WorldBloxer map for Minecraft starts.

This is how the “real” Minecraft map is used

If you make use of the service and have a real place on earth transformed into a Minecraft map, you will then receive an email from GeoBoxers. There you will find the download link for two maps: one with the height differences, which are based on the real geo-data, and a flat map without height differences (with the name suffix _flat). There is also a readme.txt in the download. It describes exactly how the "real" Minecraft map of your selected location is to be installed.
