We recently had a couple of Yeedi devices in postings like this one here Yeedi Mop Station, the Yeedi k65 and the k700. Yeedi has now made the Yeedi Vac Max available to me for a test so that I can get a feel for it.
With the specified suction strength of 3000 Pa (most robotic vacuum cleaners are closer to 2000 Pa), it sounds like it was made for our household with 4 cats and a dog, all of whom are diligently shedding their hair.
By the way: The Yeedi Vac Max is currently available with a discount of 80 euros on Amazon.

Who is Yeedi anyway?
Behind the brand name Yeedi is a Chinese manufacturer who specializes in vacuum cleaners and cleaning robots. The products are neither particularly cheap nor in the high-priced segment, but rather in the good midfield.
Accordingly, the manufacturing quality of Yeedi is also high and the products and the associated apps are well thought out and maintained. From my point of view, Yeedi should appeal to the people who have high expectations of the devices, but still don't want to pay the upper class in terms of price.
What is the Yeedi Vac Max?
The Vac Max is basically a vacuum and floor mopping robot in one. With the wiping function, however - as most other manufacturers do - you have limited yourself to a wipe that the vacuum cleaner takes with it. It is kept moist by a water container and thus wipes almost once wherever the vacuum cleaner goes.
If you are really looking for something that wipes powerfully and efficiently, you should go for it Yeedi mop station look, because it has two rotating mop brushes, which also “push” downwards and thus can also loosen stubborn dirt.
Assembly and processing of the Yeedi Vac Max
Before you can start using the Yeedi Vac Max, you have to install the app and assemble the vacuum robot. Both are done quickly, because basically you only have to remove two transport locks during assembly, attach or insert the brushes and pull off a protective film.
After installation, the app also explains which steps you have to take to configure the Vac Max and which functions can be used with the app.
When assembling the vacuum cleaner you get a feel for the quality that the device has. The Yeedi Vac Max is compact, heavy and looks very robust. The design is also appealing and is in no way inferior to other models in the same price segment.
Small charging station without drive-up aid and with cable management
I find the small charging station with which the Yeedi Vac Max comes very remarkable. Looks are kept nice and small and also doesn't have the “drive-up aid” that I usually know from the vacuum cleaner robots. Most of the time you have large plastic plates in front of the station, onto which the robot drives up and places itself on the charging contacts.
Just as practical is the space on the back of the station where you can wind up excess power cord. That way, the wiring looks a bit tidier right away.
Combination of Yeedi Vac Max with automatic suction station possible
A special feature of the Yeedi compared to most robot vacuum cleaners is the ability to expand it with a suction station. However, this is a paid accessory, but you can Order Yeedi Vac Max directly in a bundle with the station.
The suction station has the advantage that the Yeedi Vac Max can automatically drive to emptying when its internal dust container is full. Since the robot vacuum cleaners generally only have a small dust container, it can happen that it is full during cleaning in a large apartment and heavily soiled.
In that case, the Yeedi Vac Max then drives to the suction station and gets the dirt in the dust container canceled in 20 seconds.
Automatic ground detection - very ingenious!
A feature that I have read and noticed on paper, but which I only learned to appreciate in practical use, is automatic ground detection.
This means that the Yeedi Vac Max can adjust its suction strength when it is cleaning a carpet and it bypasses carpets when it is driving around with a built-in cloth.
If the Yeedi Vac Max is wiping, it only moves its front side onto the carpet, then recognizes the new surface and turns to the side, only to vacuum and mop outside the carpet.
Room mapping, area cleaning and area blocking via app
If you have installed the Yeedi app, the Yeedi Vac Max creates a map of the entire apartment or the area that it can reach during the first cleaning.
Once this has been done, it can be sent to specific rooms to be cleaned in the future, or specific areas or rooms can be blocked.
Cleaning result of the Yeedi Vac Max
As I mentioned before, our household is actually perfect for a hardcore test. There are power cables, carpets, lots of animal hair and also small scraps of wood that our dog always makes when he gnaws a stick.
Anyone who wants to survive here as a vacuum cleaner robot has to be tough. And with the advertised 3000 Pa suction power, the Yeedi Vac Max is already top of the range in terms of performance.
As for the brushes, there is an edge brush and a large main brush made of rubber lamellas and plastic bristles. This mixture of lamellas and bristles is perfect when dealing with hard floors and carpets, as dirt is also sucked in and out of the deeper areas of carpets.
In my test, the Yeedi Vac Max was completely convincing. I had set it to the automatic level, in which it sucks less on carpets, but increases the performance on hard floors again.
The floors were then all nice and clean and free of dog and cat hair. He also caught and vacuumed the small pieces of wood.
The cleaning result of the Yeedi Vac Max is definitely a great device. My wife still thinks that our Dyson floor vacuum cleaner with a mains connection can do more (which can also be), but it is never as comfortable as with a vacuum cleaner robot.
Automatic resumption of cleaning after charging
After a good 120 square meters, the battery was empty during my first test with the Yeedi Vac Max and he made his way home. I think he hadn't worked on about 5 square meters at this point. After recharging, which took about two hours, he's off again and has cleaned the rest of the way.
I didn't know this feature yet, but I have to say that it is extremely practical, especially with large cleaning surfaces. I would never have needed that in my old apartment, as there was a total of only 60 square meters on one level, which the vacuum cleaner robot of the time naturally managed in one go.
Cleaning schedules and do-not-disturb times
If you want to send the Yeedi Vac Max through your apartment regularly, you can set a separate start time for each day of the week on which to start cleaning. However, so that he does not drive to recharge in between and then get the idea to start cucumbering again at night to clean the rest, you can also set blocking times during which he does not leave his station under any circumstances.
Emptying the dust container is really easy
Actually a minor matter, but from my point of view it is very important: emptying the dust container. I had already had robotic vacuum cleaners and it was always a bit of a fumble to open the dust container. Then it was so stupidly constructed that when you opened it, the dirt was scattered over a large area. Since this experience I have known that I have to pay special attention to the dust container.
With the Yeedi this is on the one hand nice and big at 430 ml and on the other hand it is also practically constructed. You can fold the filter away and then dump the entire contents into the trash can - without much mess.
The filters consist of several layers so that you can easily remove the filter parts for larger dirt and clean them under the tap. Only the folded paper filter should be completely replaced at some point.
Spare parts for the Yeedi Vac Max
Another plus point for the Yeedi devices is the range of spare parts. Yeedi is not a small junk that will disappear from the market in a few months, but a company that is active in many countries.
The range of Yeedi spare parts is correspondingly good, as is the case here with one quick search on Amazon sees. From replacement brushes to wipes to filters, everything is available here.
My conclusion on the Yeedi Vac Max
I have to say that I am quite impressed with the device. So far it was Roborock Xiaomi Mi S6 is my favorite robot vacuum, but the S6 only has 2000 Pa suction power, while the Yeedi Vac Max has 3000 Pa.
In everyday life you don't really notice the difference between 3000 and 2000 Pa, because there is always a hair here and there on the carpet - even at 3000 Pa. Nevertheless, the Yeedi Vac Max impresses with useful navigation when cleaning, an easily understandable app and many functions, such as cleaning certain rooms or blocking areas. Scheduling cleaning times is also a great thing.
For me, the Vac Max is a well-engineered product that can also master steps between rooms and should therefore be particularly interesting for half-timbered houses in which you often have such transitions from one area to another.
If you want to get the Yeedi Vac Max, you will find it here at Amazon or via the following product listing:
