Chapter in this post:
Supercell's Brawl Stars is a child-friendly fighting and survival game that is available for iOS and iPadOS as well as Android. I play the game every now and then with my son. On the iPad you have a virtual joystick on the screen to control the character, which unfortunately twitches again and again because I just can't control precisely with my thumb if I don't have a real mechanical button. Mostly that's ok, but when it's about the sausage and you're shooting at other players, one or the other curse slips off your lips. Hence my research on the question: Can you play Brawl Stars on the iPad with a game controller?
Apple devices such as the iPhone, iPad, Mac and so on officially support the game controllers of the current PlayStation and Xbox generations. More on this in this post: Connect Xbox and PS4 controllers to Apple TV, Mac, iPad and iPhone. Unfortunately, the coupling is mainly intended for the “Apple Arcade” game subscription and cannot be used per se for every game from the App Store. So can you control Brawl Stars with a joystick or gamepad? No, unfortunately that does not work on the iPad, as Supercell has not yet integrated support for game controllers in the iOS app. If you have a Mac or PC, you can still enjoy playing Brawl Stars with the controller ...
This is Brawl Stars: Here is my comprehensive review of the game
Some of you might already be familiar with the Android emulator “BlueStacks”. The app ensures that you can run an Android system on the Apple Mac or Windows PC and use apps from the Google Play Store on it. On the official website for download the developers even advertise that, thanks to BlueStacks, over a million Android games can be played on the computer here also Brawl Stars as download.
The big advantage besides the use of a larger screen: the use of a mouse and keyboard or a joystick or gamepad. Brawl Stars with mouse and keyboard is probably the fastest option, as these input devices should be available to all users. As a game controller, you can also use one Xbox controller , or PS4 controller use.
As noted above, in the emulated Android system you have to use the Download the Brawl Stars app first. This requires the use of the Google Play Store and therefore a Google account. Log in with this, install the game app and open it. You can then use the menu of the emulator app to set the controls individually or look at the key assignment in order to understand the control of the game characters via the selected input devices.
