My current pick of the week is not a single product or a specific app, but rather a type of product that is currently needed in more households than usual. Because after more than a year of working from home, some people go back to work. In the meantime, however, some documents and records have accumulated at home that contain sensitive data or contain other company-internal information. When these no longer need to be kept, they can be disposed of with waste paper. But just toss it in the blue bin without making it illegible beforehand? Document shredder with cross cut

I came up with the topic because I am currently sorting out a few folders, binders and shelves. There are expired contracts and outdated bank statements there. There are also more up-to-date documents with sensitive data, but they do not necessarily have to be kept. That's why I dealt with the topic of document shredders. 

There are many different models, from the simple strip cutter to the cross-cut document shredder that can shred several pages at once. Even CDs are no problem for some devices. So there is a suitable paper shredder for every scenario.

Paper shredder with strip cut

If you don't need a cross cut or any other power features, because you just want to shred a few not-too-delicate documents to be on the safe side, then a strip-cut document shredder will probably be sufficient. This would certainly be sufficient for my purposes, as I have no documents with state-sponsored or patented information.
