"Recommended by Sir Apfelot" - seal now in the Pearl online shop

I have been running this Apple blog since 2012 and regularly present accessories and technical devices. The Pearl Shop was so pleased with this that I was allowed to contribute a seal. For example, the Sir-Apfelot seal with the words “Recommended” and the five stars adorns the revolt 3-in-1 socket, which offers two USB-A and one USB-C connection in addition to a Schuko socket. I have recommended them e.g. B. as an alternative to Lencent socket in this review. You will find the "Recommended by Sir Apfelot" seal, which is based on it with this link in the Pearl online shop.

"Recommended by Sir Apfelot" - This is currently the case for a product in the Pearl online shop. I can well imagine further cooperation :)

Products recommended by Sir Apfelot in the Pearl Shop

So far it is only a product that has been equipped with the emblem shown. But it is quite conceivable that the collaboration with Pearl could be even more extensive. If I have understood correctly, the small icon with the reference to my recommendation will also appear in the Pearl print catalog. As a blogger you can pat yourself on the shoulder after eight years, right? : D

On the product page linked above for a Schuko socket with USB-A and USB-C connections you will find the reference to my recommendation.

Which test report did you use as a recommendation?

Here in the Sir Apfelot blog you will find numerous test and experience reports. Especially with USB accessories and chargers, I always use different measuring devices, consumers such as iPhone and MacBook as well as a load resistor to put the accessories from different manufacturers through their paces. Has one of these tests already made the purchase decision for you? Or have you downloaded an app presented here in the blog? Perhaps there was also a contribution to an online tool, a toy or a lamp that provided you with the information you were looking for about a product / software? Feel free to leave a comment with "counseling" experiences on this blog. I look forward to your feedback;)

  1. Hmmmm, have to think about it. Difficult in the heat.

Information, information and again information. Above all, very useful ones can be found on your blog.
Thank you very much for that.

And I always came across very interesting software from you.

Which? My pear is too soft for that today.

    1. Hello wolf! Thank you for your comment. Then I wish you a nice sweat. But it looks like you got through it after that day. LG

  2. To be honest, I don't know if I would have let Pearl chuck me in.
In the last 30 years (that's how long I've known the company, at that time they started shipping shareware for the DOSe on a very small scale), I have unfortunately repeatedly experienced great disappointments in terms of quality there, and only buy there when I I really can't get something from any other better source, I urgently need it, and it doesn't matter that the article lasts for a long time.

Somehow I would be afraid that my own reputation would be damaged if I were put in a public context with them!

    1. Thank you for your feedback. So whenever I ordered something in the last few months, the quality was ok. When you buy super-cheap things, you actually know beforehand that it is junk. No matter if it comes from Pearl or wherever. But everyone probably gathers their own experiences ...

      1. Yes, I even agree with you when it comes to “super-cheap”, although that doesn’t necessarily have to break the first time you use it, unfortunately not everything fell into this category…

        1. Of course, that shouldn't happen then. Perhaps the quality has also developed in recent years. I think every shop owner should have noticed by now that junk is no longer well received by customers. You should rather look for a different business content that is a little more sustainable.

  3. Yesterday I received an enticing email from Apple regarding the beta test of the new Mac OS. I signed up and wanted to download the beta version. After about 75% I got into an endless loop, then stopped. I am currently trying to restore a time machine backup. I would have preferred to do it with Super duper, but don't know how. I was able to boot from Super duper, but how does the restore work?

    1. The restore is done in such a way that you boot from the backup, then delete the internal hard drive and use SuperDuper to copy everything back. But be careful: I would definitely make a backup of the current disk on an external hard disk so that you still have the current version in an emergency (if the first backup has a problem). Even if you no longer want it. Then you can delete them later, but NO backup - even for 2 hours when copying - is no alternative.

      1. Thanks for the tip.
After several unsuccessful attempts, I have now figured out what I had been doing wrong so far. I had deleted the internal hard drive, but then created another volume next to the “Macintosh HD” with the name “Data”. And that was the mistake. You can only create the volume “Macintosh HD”, the data volume will then be created automatically! Otherwise you have an additional volume that eats up storage space but cannot be used because this volume cannot be activated.
One more word about the restore:
A full system restore using Time Machine did NOT work for me. Shortly before the end of the copying process, Time Machine broke off with an error message. Luckily I still had a backup with SuperDuper!, which I update every day. So the restore went smoothly. However, it took about 8 hours. The data transfer rate was 11 MB/sec, which is of course not a great value. Do you think using an SSD will help here? I secure with SuperDuper! currently on a "normal" external WD hard drive 1 TB with USB3 connector.

        1. Hello Klaus! Thanks for the feedback. Time Machine is botch. Unfortunately, this happens again and again and people are sometimes left without a backup. For this reason, Time Machine is more of a backup for me to restore individual files. Regarding your question about the SSD: That should bring something. Even on old iMacs, an SSD brings a significant increase in speed. I would recommend doing it with one 1TB Sandisk SSD try. I have had very good experiences with them.

  4. SSD already ordered. Thanks for the tip!
And sorry that I ended up in the wrong thread with my topic, because of course it has nothing to do with Pearl.
