In the test: Proscenic WashVac F10 floor cleaner and wet and dry vacuum cleaner

The manufacturer Proscenic sent me the Proscenic WashVac F10 for a test report some time ago. This device is a type of stick vacuum cleaner, but it can also mop the floor. He works with a brush roll that is moistened with cleaning fluid.

How well this floor cleaner performed in our household and what I think could be improved – you can find all of that here in the article.

Scope of delivery and construction

In addition to the individual parts of the wet and dry vacuum cleaner, the Proscenic F10 package also includes the following things:

• Charging station with power supply and space for accessories
• Replacement HEPA filter

• Cleaning brush (for the pipe between the waste water tank and roller brush)

The assembly is very simple: you just have to attach the handle to the vacuum cleaner and attach two small parts to the charging station. Then plug in the power supply and the Proscenic F10 is ready.

application

In my opinion, the device seems very robust and valuable. Even though we mainly have plastic parts here, they are made of a material that does not immediately crack. From where I know this? When I was unpacking it, I dropped the vacuum cleaner on the floor and nothing happened other than the discoloration of our floor.

I also think the color design with lots of white and some black or gray elements is very successful. With this color choice, the device should fit into many homes and it also looks quite elegant.

Cleaning products – only original or also something else?

The scope of delivery includes a cleaning agent, which the manufacturer specifies as the only cleaning agent for the vacuum cleaner. Since we have a person in the household who is very sensitive to odors, we usually don't use these cleaners.

Years ago I bought an organic all-purpose cleaner (10 liter canister BiOHY), which I used for this wet and dry vacuum cleaner. It doesn't smell that intense, just a subtle hint of lemon and is therefore also suitable for people who are easily bothered by smells.

What you shouldn't use is cleaners that contain alcohol. You should also avoid adding essential oils. The reason for this is that these substances may attack the adhesive bonds in the water tank, causing it to leak. The manufacturer has put a note about this on the tank.

My experiences with the Proscenic F10

In the following paragraphs I would like to describe to you what the workflow is like if you want to mop a room - or more - with the floor cleaner.

This is how cleaning works with the Proscenic F10

But how is cleaning with the Proscenic WashVac F10? Before you can start, fill the water tank with the cleaning fluid. Then you insert the tank and you can get started.

Tapping the power button starts the wet and dry vacuum cleaner in “Smart” mode. Here, the sensor of the Proscenic F10 checks how much dirt it finds and supplies the roller brush with water accordingly.

If you want the maximum cleaning performance, you tap the mode button and you get to “Max” mode. Here the brush increases speed again and the inflow of cleaning fluid is also increased.

If you tap the mode button again, you will enter “Suction” mode. Here no water is added to the brush and the device only sucks. You can still spray liquid onto the roller brush at any time using the spray button on the underside of the handle.

Positive: Hardly any distance to the wall

What I immediately noticed when cleaning in the bathroom for the first time is the small distance that the cleaning brush leaves from the wall. This allows you to mop the floor right up to the edge and you don't have the dirt marks that other floor mops leave behind.

In my test there was only a margin of approx. 1 cm on the side (according to the technical data only 0,7 cm) and only approx. 2 to 3 cm on the front of the brush. So you get a significantly better cleaning result than I did with, for example Easyin W100 (which we still use).

Cleaning result: top!

We mainly use the Proscenic F10 for mopping the floors in the bathroom and basement. In my opinion, the result here is convincing.

I usually use the smart mode, in which the device itself decides how much water or cleaning agent to put on the roller brush. When you start cleaning, it takes about 10 seconds for the roller to completely wipe the floor without leaving any dry spots.

From then on you can mop the floor by moving the wet/dry vacuum cleaner back and forth. The way I usually do this is to wipe each area at least twice - once to soak and once to wipe. This will get most things clean.

Self-cleaning – after cleaning

Once you've finished cleaning, the Proscenic F10 will help you clean up. To do this, you place it on its charging station and press the button on the back of the handle to start self-cleaning.

Now the rotating brush starts again and fresh cleaning water is distributed over the brush. This is also sucked in again directly and in this way lint and dirt are both removed from the brush and rinsed out of the connecting pipes in the vacuum cleaner.

The roller brush is pressed firmly on the back by a rubber lip so that the dirty water is pressed out of the fabric. This way the brush is always clean and is moistened with new cleaning water.

When the cleaning process is over after a few seconds, the assistant tells you that you can now remove the filter and the dirty water container.

You can simply pour out the dirty water container and then run fresh water through it once or twice to get rid of the remaining dirt. Dog and cat hair tends to collect on the floor here, but is then simply thrown out when cleaning.

The Hepa filter is a piece of foam that can be removed from the rubber frame to be cleaned and squeezed under water. Then put it back in and let it dry.

The roller brush is usually quite clean after rinsing and is used by the Proscenic F10 itself Fan dried. However, this process takes a long time and is not particularly quiet. I measured 45 db(A), which should correspond to a noise level in a quiet residential area without street noise. In order for it to happen, there definitely have to be a few children on the street.

Well, anyway, I always take out the roller brush and then put it in a compartment in the charging station. This way it can dry quietly.

More pressure from the foot

For stubborn stains, when repeated wiping doesn't help, I place one foot on the front of the Proscenic F10 to increase the pressure with which the brush cleans the floor. I assume the shoe print icon is there to show that you can do that.

However, this cleaning technique requires some coordination because the vacuum cleaner's motor is quite powerful and still drives the roller without any problems. This causes the wet/dry vacuum cleaner to pull forward, which is not easy to compensate for when you are balancing on one leg. But: it works and you can also get rid of stubborn stains.

Carpets and doormats: more possible than hard floors

According to the manufacturer, the Proscenic WashVac F10 is for wooden floors, tiles and cement floors. In my opinion, you can also use it to clean laminate if you use the vacuum-only mode and then manually add some cleaning agent to the roller brush. So you can only make the brush “damp,” which is often recommended as a guideline for laminate.

However, we also use the Proscenic F10 for carpets and doormats. We have two dogs and we have a doormat right in the entrance area to catch the worst dirt after a walk. It gets pretty dirty in the fall when you come into the house with muddy rubber boots and dog paws.

The Easine wet and dry vacuum cleaner, which we have been using since the beginning of 2022, has proven that this type of floor cleaner can also be used for dirty doormats and carpets. The rollers brush the carpets properly and remove dirt.

The result is that the doormats or carpets look quite fresh and new again. You just have to be careful - if you have a wooden or laminate floor underneath - that the doormat or carpet doesn't get soaked to the bottom.

Practical: quick stop by “folding in”

A feature that is practical when cleaning is the quick stop by folding the vacuum cleaner. You do this by folding the “body” of the vacuum cleaner up so that the angle between the part with the brush roll and the body is 90 degrees. So you can then turn off the vacuum cleaner and at the same time it switches off.

This quick stop helps me, for example, if someone bothers me while I'm cleaning and I have to go to the front door or answer the phone.

Change or “mute” the language

The floor mop always announces what you are doing, what mode you are in, when the battery needs to be charged or when the water is empty. The voice output is in English, but you can also switch it to French, Spanish, German and a few other languages ​​using a button on the back of the vacuum.

The best function that can be activated using this button is muting. The voice of the audio assistant is quite tinny and a bit annoying. So she stays away from me.

criticisms

There really isn't much to complain about about the Proscenic F10. I only have small things that I would still like to mention here:

• The brush roll is “short pile”, to put it that way. The result is that on tiled floors with height differences (due to poor installation), areas remain dry and are not wiped. This can be solved by changing the orientation of the wet/dry vacuum cleaner so that the edge of the roller moves along the tile shoulder.
• The Easine W100 has a handle on the main part of the vacuum cleaner that makes it easy to carry the device. Something like this is missing from the Proscenic F10, so you grab it by the tube of the handle and carry it around that way. This is less convenient, but not a big problem either.
• Due to the rotation of the brush roll, such floor cleaners are less able to pick up dirt that is on the back of the roll. So you have to make sure that you always move the front of the roll over crumbs or something similar so that they are picked up reliably.
• The speed and strength with which the Proscenic F10 pulls forward due to the rotation of the rollers is impressive - but also exhausting. Of course, the floor mop saves you a lot of work, but pulling the vacuum cleaner also makes you sweat. But yes, that is whining at a high level.

All of the criticisms are not really critical and some are more like comments. You can already tell that I am very satisfied with the Proscenic F10. But the final verdict is coming soon.

My conclusion about the Proscenic WashVac F10

In my opinion, the Proscenic wet and dry vacuum cleaner is a recommendation if you have rooms that you need to clean but don't feel like wiping. I used to find it very annoying when I had to get a bucket and mop and mix cleaning water in order to then mop a room.

In addition, even a small bathroom required half a bucket of cleaning water. Those days are over with floor mops. Here you only need half a liter of cleaning water and you can clean a room very quickly.

The Proscenic also has a practical self-cleaning function that flushes and cleans the internal pipes and the roller brush in under a minute. Then pour away the dirty water, take out the brush and the Hera filter and let everything dry. In any case, I don't want to be without the device anymore.
