With the Sir Apfelot app for iOS and now also iPadOS devices you are always up to date with this blog. There is hardly a device that is as good for reading articles as the Apple iPad. For cost reasons I still had to do without an optimized iPad version of my app. But now it is ready and you can do it Download from the App Store. Another innovation in the current version is the dark mode, i.e. the dark mode that is easy on the eyes when it is dark. With OLED displays in particular, it also ensures that the battery is conserved.
Chapter in this post:
Sir Apfelot app for the iPad
From now on you can not only follow this blog via your own iPhone app, but also visit a larger display with better functions via iPad. As usual, you can view all public posts, set favorites, leave comments, yourself sign up for the newsletter and so on. The structure of the app is similar to that of the iPhone, but some details have been adapted to the larger display of the iPad.
The column view with the post list on the left and the selected post on the right uses the familiar structure from Mail, Finder and other apps. This makes navigating, reading, commenting, sharing and saving posts in the app much easier. In the settings you can also make adjustments, (de) activate notifications, etc.
Dark mode for reading at night
Dark mode is now becoming the standard in many systems and apps. Not only from macOS Mojave on the Mac, but also with iOS 13 on Apple's mobile devices. So it was only logical to give my Sir Apfelot app a dark mode as well. The complete changelog with the previous improvements, bug fixes and adjustments can of course be found in the App Store, where you can also download the app completely free of charge. For this, at least iOS 11 is required on iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.
